Well, my first top is on, the rosette is in but here is my dilemma. I seemed to have taken a large chuck of my hand off while trimming the top flush to the sides. My question is, should I keep the top with the large amount of blodd as a reminder of guitar number 1's mistakes and pains, or do i remove the top and try again. The guitar is for me so I am thinking the blood would add some character. Great, I just dripped some on the computer.

My second question is to Jeff Doty, you can't be more inept then me can you?

How about cover with bloodwood. Sorry, I hope you are O.K.

You know what...I think it may get the bloodwood. Its not so bad because it is WRC. It would look worse on sitka I am sure. Just for the record, its got some of bobc's black walnut back/sides and a "unique" wrc top from ed dicks.

Too bad its not Spruce - Torres was reputed to have used something called "bledspruce" by a priest who helped him with some guitarmaking tasks when he was on in his years. Maybe you were onto something there...

If you don't mind seeing the stain as a reminder of your trials and tribulations. keep it. Like you said it is your first. each one you build for a long time to come will have imperfections and or tells of horror to reveal. By the way ther is a big blood stain on the back bracing of my first

Before deciding whether or not to leave to top as is, apply direct pressure to the wound.

Have you tried to sand it out?

Nah! leave it on. Call it a bravery mark.
